Welcome Note from 3rd King Of Par 3 2006 Committee

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, Assalamualaikum Warrahmatullahiwabarakatuh.
Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations for joining the Par 3 King golf championship of the year 2006.
This is the 3rd year that this championship has been held and i am glad that the response has been overwhelming. This tournament was founded by myself and Messrs Nazree back in 2004 to bring new golfers into the foray of tournament golf.Although, amateur golf does not have a fantastic following like football and other sports in Brunei, yet i believe it is the best sport that can be played by both men and women until their golden years be it recreationally or competitively. It is a game that can be played by father and son, mother and daughter, husband and wife, friends and colleagues and strangers alike. It is the game of a lifetime and insyallah so will this tournament when i have passed on to the next life.
Last year's players were limited to 18 only but because of the overwhelming response of new players, we have decided to increase the slot to 30 players.
Brian Sim was our champion golfer last year winning the 2nd Par 3 King and this year he will also be competing. We also have some of our players from last year who have improved significantly but who are still interested in joining.

We do have some changes to the rules and regulations though and they are as follows:
1.) Players will be given stickers as name tags. Please write the name you want to be called during the championship and stick it on your self to be easily recognised and addressed. We promote friendship and we don't believe in strangers on the golf course. If you have business cards, bring plenty.
2.) Only 7 clubs are allowed in the bag and that includes the putter. Anyone found playing during the championship with more than 7 clubs will be automatically disqualified.
3.) There are no O.B.'s(Out of Bounds) in this championship. Only hazards, so for example anything right of hole #1 and hole #2 are hazards. If you find you've hit your ball past a white OB stake, you're in a hazard and you must take a penalty drop.
4.) There is no such thing as a mulligan. If you do take a mulligan, that's considered a third stroke.
5.) There are no gimmes. Please finish your putts.
6.) Please adhere to the rules and regulations of Golf as per the Royal and Ancient and please have etiquette during the championsip.
7.) Safety is paramount especially where holes 1, 6, 7, 8 and 9 are concerned so please shout Fore, Ball or whatever you think needs to be said to make someone run for cover when your ball is headed for them. Please make sure the fairway and green is clear before you hit your shot. The P3K committee does not take responsibility of any injury by players.
8.) After the round is complete, please count your scores carefully and correctly sign them. Sit down with your marker for a few minutes to make sure your scorecard is correct. Plenty of players, both professional and amateurs, have been disqualified due to wrong marking of scorecards.
9.) Please avoid slow play. You are now only limited to 3 minutes to look for your ball in the forest, water, drain or wherever you have lost it. Please keep up with the flight ahead of you.
10.) Have fun and smile(eventhough you have just had a double par), you're playing tournament golf on a weekend. Not everyone is lucky enough to do this. Players are also advised to drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration.
11.) If you have any queries please don't hesitate to ask the tournament marshalls who will try and help you with your questions.I hope this will be of benefit to everyone involved. Any questions pls email me at basecheck@hotmail.com or Mr Nazree at Nazwave@gmail.comI look forward to seeing you all on Sunday 20th August 2006 and please, don't be late. Thank you.Sincerely,Pg Mohamed Fakhrul Amiruddin Pg Haji Mohamed Salleh.on behalfof the PAR 3 KING 2006 committee.
